Bird Nesting Season is Approaching
Everything you need to know about The Bird Nesting Season! All wild bird species, their eggs and nests are protected by law. To ensure there is no damage to active bird nests, there are laws regarding vegetation works during this period. When is the Bird Nest Season? Spring is often known as the beginning of the bird nesting season and with this comes a lot of preparation. In the UK, Bird breeding season will ‘officially’ start from February until August (Natural England). Vegetation works (tree or hedge cutting), or site clearance is advised to be done outside of the nesting season. All wild birds are protected by law under the Wildlife and Countryside Act (WCA) 1981 It is highly recommended by Natural England that any arboricultural works are completed outside of the nesting season. New phones, new ways of communication!
It has been a busy couple of weeks here at AJB Tree Care! New changes are coming in the form of an office revamp, which will have our brand-new upstairs meetings room and new landline. You will now be able to contact us through the main reception phone which will then be able to connect you to someone suitable for your inquiry. The team has also been incredibly busy during their summer maintenance tasks and smashing through a multitude of jobs all over the surrounding counties. Our Works with Buckinghamshire County Council throughout the summer months are well underway. We have been making sure footpaths and outdoor areas are safe and easy for the public. New year, new kit, new faces!
2020 has got off to a flying start and we’ve hit the ground running after our break, it’s been brilliant to see such keen interest in our services and what we can offer at the start of a New Year. There of course is uncertainty around what the future holds with, dare we mention it, Brexit but so far, so good (long may it continue!). We’ve seen a steep increase in requests for site visits, tree surveys and work to be priced and booked in. As a result of this we have brought on new faces and moved around familiar ones in the business to accommodate needs as we move forwards. Callum has worked tirelessly since the return from Christmas as our Contracts Manager, focussing on bringing on new clients and giving his undivided attention to existing ones…..and with more clients, comes more work. Where did those 365 days go?
The Christmas music is on, the Christmas Party is just around the corner and it’s not long now until all of us at AJB down tools and take a well-earned break. The countdown to ‘shutting up shop’ is officially on but not before we tidy up our last few jobs for the year and call in on our customers to check all is well. Having said that, we never really do stop entirely with teams on 24/7 standby throughout the festive season for many of the local Councils, Highways and anyone in need of emergency tree works. Our staff were quick to volunteer their standby services which reflects just how dedicated and hard working they have all been throughout this year.
